The President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena has been pleased to promote the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera to the rank of Admiral with effect from 09th July 2015.

The newly-appointed Chief of Defence Staff Air Chief Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera at the Naval Headquarters on 07th July 2015.

The Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera declared open the renovated junior sailor's married quarters at the Welisara Naval Complex on 06th July 2015.

The Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera addressed the newly enlisted cadet officers of the 56th Intake and the Direct Entry officers at the auditorium of SLNS Parakrama on 03rd July 2015.

The phase I of the female sea cadet annual assessment camp – 2015 concluded on 02nd July 2015 with a passing out parade held at the parade ground of the Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA) in Trincomalee.

The newly constructed power house at SLNS Thammanna in Thalai-mannar was declared open by the Commander North Central Naval Area Rear Admiral Dimuthu Gunawardene on 02nd July 2015.

The newly appointed Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Gagan Bulathsinghala paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera on 29th June 2015 and was accorded a Guard of Honour on arrival at the Naval Headquarters.

The Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera declared open the newly-constructed building for the Eastern Naval Command wardroom in Trincomalee on 27th June 2015.

The Commander of the Navy visited the Southern Naval Area on 25th June 2015 and on arrival at SLNS Dakshina he was received by the Commander Southern Naval Area Rear Admiral Jagath Ranasinghe.
