The state Christmas festival was held at the Jaffna municipal council ground under the patronage of His Excellency the President Maithripala Sirisena on 20th December 2015.

A family get-together of naval personnel killed and wounded in action were held at SLN Dockyard in Trincomalee on 18th December 2015.

The newly-built Aqua Golf Driving Range at the Welisara Naval Complex was declared open by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne on 18th December 2015.

Naval troops attached to SLNS Thammanna of the North Central Command in a pre-dawn raid conducted on 18th November 2015 on information received, seized a haul of 5 kilograms of gold, which had been hidden inside a fiber glass dingy at the seas of North of Urumalai.

The State Minister of Defence, Hon. Ruwan Wijewardene declared open the newly-constructed Sailors Married Quarters at the Welisara on 18th December 2015.

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne declared open the new building of the Naval Research and Development Wing at the Welisara Naval Complex on 18th December 2015.

The graduation ceremony of the Course No. 09 of the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) was held at the main auditorium of the DSCSC on 17th December 2015 with the State Minister of Defence, Hon. Ruwan Wijewardene gracing the occasion as the chief guest.
