Naval personnel deployed on a patrol craft attached to the Southern Naval Command arrested three fishermen with a canoe engaged in illegal fishing using dynamite in the Medagala sea area in Galle on 12th January 2016.

The Northern Naval Command under the guidance of the Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Piyal De Silva donated books to over 1,000 students studying in schools located on the islets of the Northern Province for the new school year.

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Vijaya in Kalapitiya arrested five (05) persons with an illegal haul of 950 kilograms of sea cucumber at Kappaladi, Kalpitiya, on 08th January 2016.

The facility of the Aqua Golf Driving Range, which was declared open by the Commander of the Navy on 18th December 2015, has now been extended to the general public with effect from 01st January 2016.
