Naval troops attached to SLNS Therapuththa in Mannar, apprehended 3 Sri Lankan fishermen along with a Fiber Glass Dinghy while engaging in illegal fishing in the waters of Silawathura on 2nd March 2016.

The Commander of the Ship Squadron of Russian Naval Ship “Epron”, Captain 1st Rank Sergey V. Ignatov, accompanied by the ship’s Commanding Officer, Captain 3rd Rank Denis A.

Russian Rescue Vessel “Epron”, arrived at the Port of Colombo on a goodwill visit on 03rd March 2016. The ship was welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions on her arrival.

Sri Lanka Navy facilitated the conduct of the annual festival of the St. Anthony’s Church located on the Palaithivu Island. The main mass was conducted by Vicar General of the Jaffna Roman Catholic Diocese.
