Acting upon a concept of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, the latest position, “Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy”, for the sailors of the Sri Lanka Navy was formed and Master Chief Petty Officer TG Neelkaru XS 15959 was appointed as the first ever “Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy” by Commander of the Navy today (11).

The First Operational Level Bilateral Defence Dialogue between the US Armed Forces and Sri Lanka Armed Forces was held on 8th and 9th August 2016. Sri Lanka Navy hosted the event at Naval Headquarters premises.

Two hundred and eighty nine naval recruits belonging to the 226th regular intake of the Sri Lanka Navy passed out at SLNS Nipuna in Bossa today (6) after successful completion of their basic training.
