The new Naval Attaché at the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Sri Lanka, Senior Captain ZHENG Zhaoping called on Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera at the Navy Headquarters on 10th December 2024.

The ‘Waves and Wings’ Beach Handball Tournament, organized by Rotaract Colombo West, took place on 07th and 08th December 2024, at Mount Lavinia Beach. The championship match featured an exciting face-off between the Navy ‘A’ and Navy ‘B’ teams, with Navy ‘B’ emerging as champions and Navy ‘A’ securing the runner-up position.

The Directorate of Dental Services Sri Lanka Navy, in collaboration with the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit and Good Neighbours Foundation (Guarantee) Limited, successfully conducted another phase of a dental care initiative in Embilipitiya area on 05th and 06th December 2024.

In addition, a Gilanpasa Buddha Puja ritual was also held at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic premises on 08th December. The events have been organized as part of the religious segment of the 74th Anniversary celebrations of Sri Lanka Navy.

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera along with the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Mala Lamahewa attended an all-night Pirith Chanting and Alms Giving ceremonies held at the Welisara Naval Complex on 06th and 07th December 2024. The meritorious events were organized to invoke blessings on the forthcoming 74th Anniversary (09th December) of the Sri Lanka Navy.

To commemorate the Sri Lanka Navy's 74th Anniversary, a blood donation drive was held at the Command Naval Hospital in Northwestern Naval Area on 06th December 2024.

The Navy's Research and Development Unit, in partnership with the Naval Social Responsibility Project and funded by the Presidential Secretariat, is leading a project to install 31 Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants across the Anuradhapura district. On 06th December 2024, 03 more RO plants were inaugurated at Musnewa Yalegama Village in Galnewa Divisional Secretariat, Community Hall premises of Angamuwa Fisheries Village and Maligatenna Purana Raja Maha Viharaya in Rajanganaya Divisional Secretariat.
