Navy renders assistance to restore lives of those impacted by severe weather
As part of the Sri Lanka Navy’s post disaster recovery efforts, naval personnel were engaged in distributing relief aid to the residents of Pukkulam fishing village on 09 Dec 25. This effort was conducted in collaboration with the Wanathawilluwa Divisional Secretariat in Puttalam. Furthermore, the Navy facilitated safe passage across the Nayaru Lagoon, transporting 450 residents and 33 motorcycles to ensure mobility for the affected area.

Sri Lanka Navy ceremonially occupies in the Defence Headquarters Complex in Akuregoda
Marking the proud occasion of the Sri Lanka Navy's 75th anniversary, the ceremonial occupation of the Navy Headquarters (Block No. 3) at the Defence Headquarters Complex (DHQC) in Akuregoda was held today (09 Dec 25). The ceremony was graced by the Hon. Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), as the Chief Guest, at the invitation of the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda.

Religious rituals held at Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in view of 75th anniversary of Navy
Marking the 75th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Navy, an alms giving was held at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy today (09 Dec 25). In addition, a Gilanpasa Buddha Puja ritual was also held at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic premises on 08 December.

Four (04) Indian Naval Ships arrive in island with humanitarian aid
The Indian Navy’s INS GHARIAL and 03 LCUs (Landing Craft Utility), carrying humanitarian assistance for those affected by recent adverse weather in Sri Lanka, arrived in the island on 07 and 08 Dec 25. The Sri Lanka Navy welcomed the visiting ships in compliance with naval traditions at the ports of Trincomalee and Colombo.

Navy restores water supply to Madampe area after flood damage
