Navy hands over hoisting of National Flag at Galle Face and Ceremonial Guard at President’s House to Air Force
The Sri Lanka Navy handed over the customary duty of the hoisting of National Flag at the Galle Face to the Sri Lanka Air Force on 31st March 2024 at the Galle Face Green. In the same vein the performance of Ceremonial Guard duties at the President’s House was also handed over to the Air Force at the Air Force Headquarters today (01st April).

Sri Lanka Navy Inspectorate achieves ISO 9001:2015 certification for excellence in inspections
The awarding of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certification to the Sri Lanka Navy Inspectorate was held under the auspices of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera and Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI), Dr. Mrs. Siddhika G. Senarathna at the Lighthouse Galley Colombo on 27th March 2024.

Twenty – one (21) SBS personnel receive insignia after successful completion of training
The Special Boat Squadron (SBS) held an insignia awarding and passing out ceremony today (27th March 2024) to mark the termination of SBS training which was successfully completed by 21 sailors. At the invitation of the Commanding Officer SBS, Captain Dharmasiri Herath, the Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Suresh De Silva, graced the event which was held in a dignified sequence at the SBS Headquarters in the Naval Dockyard, Trincomalee.

Programme on enhancing Maritime Domain Awareness in Indian Ocean Region held in Colombo
A programme on enhancing Maritime Domain Awareness in Indian Ocean Region, co-hosted by the United Nations Office on Drugs & Crime (UNODC) and the Sri Lanka Navy was held at Cinnamon Grand Colombo on 26th and 27th March 2024. The event was also attended by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera.

Disabled naval war veterans receive electric wheelchair and prosthetic legs
The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera on 22nd March 2024 handed over prosthetic legs and an electric wheelchair to another 03 naval war veterans, who lost their limbs during the humanitarian operation. The generous gesture came into being at the Oyamaduwa Officer Holiday Bungalow, Anuradhapura as part of the programme of providing prosthetic legs to disabled naval war veterans.

The lecture, held at the Wave N’ Lake Navy Hall on 20th March 2024, was also attended by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera.

Naval Social Responsibility project reaches significant milestone, foundation stone laid for 1000th RO plant
Marking another special milestone in the Naval Social Responsibility project which is being implemented under the direct supervision of the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, Commodore Manjula Hewa Battage, the Deputy Area Commander of Northwestern Naval Command laid the foundation stone for the 1000th Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant at Sri Sumana Vidyalaya in Palukadawala, Mahawa on 20th March 2024. The funds needed for this particular project will be made possible by the National Lottery Board.

Sri Gunarathana Dharma Vidyalaya of Sapugaskanda Purana Rajamaha Viharaya, Makola today (17th March 2024) felicitated the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera who is one of the past pupils of Sri Gunarathana Dharma Vidyalaya. The appreciative felicitation ceremony was held under the wise counsel of Senior Professor at the Department of Pāli and Buddhist Studies, University of Kelaniya, Rajakeeya Panditha Ven. Napiriththankadawala Ganarathna Nayaka Thera.

7th Annual Academic Sessions of SLCOMM get underway
The 7th Annual Academic Sessions – 2024 of the Sri Lanka College of Military Medicine (SLCOMM) were inaugurated in a grand ceremony at Wave n’ Lake Navy Hall on the 15th of March 2024. At the invitation of the President of the Sri Lanka College of Military Medicine and Director Naval Dental Services, Surgeon Commodore Nayana Wijedoru, the occasion was graced by the Minister of Health and Industries, Hon. (Dr.) Ramesh Pathirana, as the Chief Guest. The dignified ceremony was also attended by the Secretary Defence, General Kamal Gunaratne (Retd), the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera and members of SLCOMM.

Disabled naval war veterans receive prosthetic legs
The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera on 14th March 2024 symbolically handed over prosthetic legs to 03 naval war veterans, disabled during the humanitarian operation. The generous gesture came into being at the Navy Headquarters as part of the programme of providing prosthetic legs to disabled naval war veterans.
