Following the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva a workshop on robotics and Internet of Things (IOT) was held for the benefit of children of naval families. The workshop, under the theme ‘Robotics for Fun’ was held at the Western Naval Command Headquarters from 26^th to 30^th August 2019, under the supervision of Director General Electrical and Electronics.

The Navy apprehended 12 persons for engaging in fishing using unauthorized fishing nets in the Kalladiya lagoon area, Wanathawilluwa on 02^nd September 2019.

The Navy, during a search carried out on the Iranativu island, has found a large stock of beedi leaves on 01^st September 2019.

The Navy this morning (01^st September) rescued 04 Indian fishers aboard a distressed trawler in the seas off Kachchativu, Jaffna. The fishing trawler and its crew encountered this unfortunate incident as a result of prevailing rough sea condition.

As part of a wide range of conservation projects conducted by the Navy to protect the beautiful coastal belt of the country, another coastal conservation programme was held at the Gintota Beach in Galle on 31^st August 2019.

The Navy on 30^th August sprang into action to remove branches and twigs of trees and debris collected at the underside of Wakwella bridge in Galle.
