Disabled naval war veteran receives prosthetic leg
As part of the programme of providing prosthetic legs to disabled naval war veterans, Able Seaman (Retired) IDN Thilak Kumara who lost his limbs during the humanitarian operation, received a prosthetic leg. The donation was made at his house on 30th April 2024.

Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Navy attends 19th Western Pacific Naval Symposium in China
The Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Navy, Rear Admiral Pradeep Rathnayake attended the 19th Western Pacific Naval Symposium in China. The symposium was held from 21st to 24th April 2024 in the port city of Qingdao in east China's Shandong Province.

‘Navy Cup Sailing Regatta - 2024’ concludes in Colombo
The Sri Lanka Navy successfully hosted the ‘Navy Cup Sailing Regatta - 2024’ in the alluring waters off Galle Face on 26th and 27th April 2024. The awards ceremony of the event was held under the patronage of the Chief of Staff and National Security Advisor to the President, Mr Sagala Ratnayaka at the Galle Face beachfront.

Mini CARAT–2024 bilateral exercise concludes on successful note
The Mini Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) bilateral exercise 2024 between the United States Pacific Fleet and the Sri Lanka Navy came to a successful end on 26th April 2024. Commenced on 22nd April, Mini CARAT–2024 took place in the Marine Headquarters, Special Boat Squadron Headquarters, Naval Dockyard and Upparu in Trincomalee as well as certain segments at the Lighthouse Galley in Colombo.

Serendib World Record holding Rear Admiral Princely Liyanage (Retd) meets Commander of the Navy
Rear Admiral Princely Liyanage (Retd), the individual who holds the Serendib World Record for climbing up and down Adam's Peak (Sri Pada) using different routes within 24 hours, met with the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera at the Navy Headquarters today (25th April 2024).

Navy assists series of religious segments in commemoration of former Chief Incumbent of Nagadeepa Viharaya
The Sri Lanka Navy played a pivotal role in supporting a series of religious activities on 23rd and 24th April 2024, organized to commemorate the former Chief Incumbent of the Nagadeepa Purana Rajamaha Viharaya, Most Venerable Brahmanawaththe Dhammakiththi Thissa Thera and on the occasion of the 63rd birthday of Chief Incumbent of the Nagadeepa Purana Rajamaha Viharaya and the Chief Sanganayake of the Northern Province, Most Venerable Navadagala Padumakiththi Tissa Thera.

Navy's sea transportation crucial in delivering sacred statue of Our Lady of Madhu to churches in island sector, Jaffna
In conjunction with the centenary celebrations of the Roman Catholic Marian Shrine in Mannar, the sacred statue of Our Lady of Madhu was brought to Jaffna. Allowing devotees to pay their obeisance to the statue, the Sri Lanka Navy on 21st April 2024 provided sea transportation to deliver the sacred statue to the churches in island sector, Jaffna.

Mini CARAT – 2024 begins in Sampoor
The Mini Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) bilateral maritime exercise 2024 between the United States Pacific Fleet and the Sri Lanka Navy commenced in Sampoor, Trincomalee today (22nd April 2024). The opening of the bilateral maritime exercise got under way under the auspices of the Deputy Area Commander Eastern Naval Area, Commodore Buddhika Liyanagamage and Defence Attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Colombo, Lieutenant Colonel Anthony C.
