Let’s nurture mangroves as they nurture the planet
On the sidelines of the ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ campaign, the Sri Lanka Navy took the lead in a mangrove planting initiative at the pristine shores of Nilaveli on 08 Mar 25. The project, which focused on mangrove restoration and beach conservation to preserve the marine ecological system, was organized by the Eastern Naval Command.

Rear Admiral Princely Liyanage (Retd) aims for double Guinness glory
Rear Admiral Princely Liyanage (Retd) began his remarkable challenge today (08 Mar 25) at 1500 hrs, starting from the Navy Headquarters. Under the supervision of the Serendib World Records, the official body for world record certifications, he aims to achieve two Guinness World Records by completing a continuous 24-hour walk on a manual treadmill.

VBSS demonstration held at Dikkowita fisheries harbour

Navy’s RO plant quenches thirst of children at Nakwaththagama Junior School, Kurunegala
In a significant step towards ensuring access to clean drinking water, a Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant was declared open at Nakwaththagama Junior School, Kurunegala on 04 Mar 25.
