A haul of drugs worth approximately Rs. 6000 million seized during naval operation
Following the receipt of intelligence information to Police Narcotics Bureau the Navy deployed its Offshore Patrol Vessels and conducted a special operation in high seas. Accordingly Sri Lanka Navy's Offshore Patrol Vessels Samudura and Sayurala have been on a mission over a period of month as part of this mission. Accordingly, 02 Sri Lankan fishing vessels with over 75 kilograms of substance believed to be heroin and 66 kilograms of substance believe to be ICE were intercepted in Southern seas along with 04 suspects.

Navy's preparedness to conduct Kachchathivu feast 2020 on high note
The St. Anthony's sacred Church on Kachchativu Island located close to Indo-Lanka Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL), has long been a pinnacle of respect of both Indian and Sri Lankan Catholic devotees. The annual feast of the church is scheduled to be held in this year too and Sri Lanka Navy is working in full swing to facilitate the event’s proceedings.

Commander of the Navy attends Annual Sea Swimming Competition at Mount Lavenia as Chief Guest
Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva graced as the chief guest of the prize awarding ceremony of the two mile sea swimming competition organized by Sri Lanka Water Sports Club for the 83rd year which was held at the seas off Mount Lavenia on 29th February and 01st March.
