Following the receipt of intelligence information to Police Narcotics Bureau the Navy deployed its Offshore Patrol Vessels and conducted a special operation in high seas. Accordingly Sri Lanka Navy's Offshore Patrol Vessels Samudura and Sayurala have been on a mission over a period of month as part of this mission. Accordingly, 02 Sri Lankan fishing vessels with over 75 kilograms of substance believed to be heroin and 66 kilograms of substance believe to be ICE were intercepted in Southern seas along with 04 suspects.

As part of the Sri Lanka Navy’s social responsibility project, a blood donation campaign was conducted at the Mannar hospital on 01^st March 2020.

The Navy apprehended 03 suspects with an explosive cache, during a combined operation conducted with the Police in Kuraiyaadi on 01^st March 2020.

SL Navy apprehended a person with Kerala Cannabis at Poduwakattu area in Trincomalee on 1^st March 2020.

The Navy in coordination with the Police apprehended two persons with 500g of Kerala cannabis, during a raid carried in Kabithigollewa area, today ( 2^nd March 2020).

The St. Anthony's sacred Church on Kachchativu Island located close to Indo-Lanka Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL), has long been a pinnacle of respect of both Indian and Sri Lankan Catholic devotees. The annual feast of the church is scheduled to be held in this year too and Sri Lanka Navy is working in full swing to facilitate the event’s proceedings.

Several Corporate Social Responsibility events operated under the Green and Blue Project - a conceptual notion suggested by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, were held in the Southern Province on 29^th February 2020. The events were conducted under the directives of Commander Southern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Kassapa Paul.

The Navy, during a patrol in the sea area of Iranativu on 01^st March 2020, apprehended 02 persons who were engaging in fishing using unauthorized fishing nets.

Admiral Clancy Fernando Memorial Navy Cup Sailing Regatta – 2020 organized by Sri Lanka Navy in coordination with the Yachting Association of Sri Lanka which was held on the waterfront of Galle Face Green on 29^th February and 1st March came to successful conclusion, today ( 01^st March 2020).

Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva graced as the chief guest of the prize awarding ceremony of the two mile sea swimming competition organized by Sri Lanka Water Sports Club for the 83^rd year which was held at the seas off Mount Lavenia on 29^th February and 01^st March.
