The Italian Naval Ship ANTONIO MARCEGLIA which arrived in Sri Lanka on 05 Feb 25 for replenishment, departed the island today (07 Feb). The Sri Lanka Navy bade customary farewell to the departing ship at the Port of Colombo, following naval traditions.

The Defence & Security Advisor to the Embassy of Japan in Sri Lanka, Captain YUKI YOKOHARI called on the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda on 07 Feb 25 at the Navy Headquarters.

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda made his first official call on the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Honourable Anura Kumara Dissanayake at the Presidential Secretariat on 06 Feb 25.

The Sri Lanka Navy enabled its manpower and craft for a clean-up drive at Beira Lake and its surrounding this morning (06 Feb 25). The programme was organised by Western Province Waste Management Authority, in support of the government's "Clean Sri Lanka" project, launched under the vision "Beautiful Island, Smiling People.”

The Indonesian Naval Ship KRI DIPONEGORO – 365, which arrived in Sri Lanka on 04 Feb 25 for replenishment, departed the island today (05 Feb). The Sri Lanka Navy bade customary farewell to the departing ship at the Port of Colombo, following naval traditions.

Able Seaman RBG Chinthaka XS 114053 of the Sri Lanka Navy topped the Hydrographic Surveying Initial Employment Training Course, conducted by the Royal Australian Navy Hydrographic School, Sydney from 23 Sep to 13 Dec 24. Accordingly, he clinched the Waining Memorial Prize, as DUX of Hydrographic Surveying Initial Employment Training Course.

The 77th National Independence Day ceremony of Sri Lanka was held at the Independence Square, Colombo this morning (04 Feb 25). The main ceremony went by the theme “Let's join the national renaissance”, was held under the patronage of the President and Commander – in – Chief of the Armed Forces, Hon. Anura Kumara Dissanayake. Filled with great pride, the Sri Lanka Navy added glamour to the elegant national spectacle held in a dignified sequence.
