The Indonesian Naval Ship KRI BUNG TOMO - 357 arrived at the Port of Colombo on a goodwill visit today (16 Feb 25). The Sri Lanka Navy welcomed the visiting ship in compliance with naval traditions.

Rear Admiral HNS Perera, who was newly appointed as Commandant Volunteer Naval Force, assumed duties of the appointment today (13 Feb 25) at the Volunteer Naval Force (VNF) Headquarters, Welisara.

After completion of their basic training, 219 recruits of Regular and 148 recruits of Volunteer Naval Forces of the Sri Lanka Navy, belonging to the 256th intake, passed out in a colourful ceremony held at the main parade ground of SLNS Nipuna, Boossa on 11 Feb 25.

The Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) on 10 Feb 25 made his inaugural visit to the Navy Headquarters. As part of the “Clean Sri Lanka” initiative, the government initiated a national beach cleaning programme for creating beautiful beaches under the theme “A Beautiful Beach - An Attractive Tourist Destination”. In alignment with this effort, the Sri Lanka Navy extended its all-out support to the coastal cleanup programmes launched today (09 Feb 25) in the Western and Southern Provinces.

The multinational naval exercise AMAN-2025, hosted by the Pakistan Navy for the ninth time, commenced at Pakistan Navy Dockyard in Karachi today (07 Feb 25). The event was attended by Commanding Officer and crew of SLNS Vijayabahu, representing the Sri Lanka Navy.
