USS Stockdale of the United States Navy arrived at the port of Colombo on a replenishment visit today (22nd August 2024). The Sri Lanka Navy warmly welcomed the ship upon its arrival.

USS O’Kane of the United States Navy which arrived at the port of Colombo on a replenishment visit on 21st August 2024, departed the island today (22nd August), after successfully completing its replenishment operations.

At the request of the Chief Ministry of the Eastern Province, Trincomalee, the Sri Lanka Navy rendered assistance to conduct First Efficiency Bar Examination for fire services within the departments of local government. The practical examination will be held from 20th to 22nd August 2024 at the Naval and Maritime Academy.

A new Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant, installed as part of the Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) project, was declared open at the CNAD pier premises today (20th August 2024). The opening was held under the patronage of Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Kanchana Banagoda.

The Defence Attaché at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia based in New Delhi and accredited to Sri Lanka, Commodore Ardiansyah Muqsit called on Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera at the Navy Headquarters today (20th August 2024).

USS Spruance of the United States Navy which arrived at the port of Colombo on a replenishment visit on 19th August 2024, departed the island today (20th August), after successfully completing its replenishment operations.

Sri Lanka Navy assisted the conduct of traditional water-cutting ceremony of Sri Dalada Perahara at Gatambe on the morning of today (20th August 2024). As the grand procession (Esala Maha Perahera) of the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and 04 Main Devalayas came to an end, this time-honoured ceremony also known as ‘Diya Kepeema’ was performed, on a ritualistic note.

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera donated a wheelchair and crutches to Able Seaman KSP Rodrigo, a disabled retired junior sailor of the Sri Lanka Navy. The donation took place at the Navy Hedquarters, Colombo on 20th August 2024.

Commodore Dhanesh Pathberiya assumed duties as Acting Director General Administration of the Sri Lanka Navy at the Navy Headquarters today (20th August 2024).
