The Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), presided over a meeting to address the issues related to the benefits and concessions of disabled veterans at the Disaster Management Centre today (Dec 11).

ආරක්‍ෂක නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය මේජර් ජෙනරල් අරුණ ජයසේකර (විශ්‍රාමික) ගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් මව්බිමේ භෞමික අඛණ්ඩතාවය වෙනුවෙන් දිවිදුන් රණවිරුවන්ගේ පවුල්වල සාමාජිකයින්ගේ හා රණක්‍ෂිතයට පත් රණවිරුවන්ගේ සුබසාධනය සහ ප්‍රතිලාභ සම්බන්ධව පවතින ගැටලු නිරාකරණය පිළිබද සොයාබැලීම සඳහා වන සාකච්ඡාවක් අද (දෙසැ 11) නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍යවරයාගේ කාර්යාලයේදී පැවැත්විණි.

To commemorate the Sri Lanka Navy's 74th Anniversary, a blood donation drive was held at the Command Naval Hospital in the North Central Naval Command on 17th December 2024.

නාවික හමුදාවේ අභිමානවත් 74 වන සංවත්සරය නිමිත්තෙන් සංවිධානය කළ ලේ දන්දීමේ වැඩසටහනක් 2024 ‍දෙසැම්බර් මස 17 වැනි දින උතුරු මැද විධාන නාවික රෝහල් පරිශ්‍රයේදී සාර්ථකව පැවැත්වීමට කටයුතු කෙ‍රිණි.

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera embarked on a formal visit to the North Central Naval Command on 15th December 2024. During the visit, he inaugurated several key facilities, including a newly established Inshore Patrol Craft Repair Facility at Naval Detachment Thavulpadu of SLNS Gajaba, an Administrative Building, a two-story Junior Sailors' Mess with a General Mess at Naval Detachment Oluthudai, and a new Junior Sailors' Married Quarters at SLNS Pussadewa.

Under the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, the Sri Lanka Navy hosted a memorable Colombo tour and dragon boat training for 30 students from Delft Maha Vidyalaya, Jaffna, on 13th and 14th December 2024. These students were champions of the 8th Canoe Sprint National Championship in the School Division Dragon Boat event.

The Navy's Research and Development Unit, in collaboration with the Naval Social Responsibility Project and funded by the Presidential Secretariat, spearheaded the installation of 31 Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants in the Anuradhapura district. As part of this initiative, 03 new RO plants were inaugurated on 12th December 2024, serving Mahakanumulla Community Hall premises in the Thirappane Divisional Secretariat and 231 Eastern Village and Katukeliyawa of Moragahawela belonging to the Kahatagasdigiliya Divisional Secretariat.

Commodore Sujeewa Weerasuriya assumed duties as Acting Director General Services of the Sri Lanka Navy at the office of Director General Services, Navy Headquarters today (13th December 2024).

A delegation led by the Commander Joint Agency Task Force Operation Sovereign Borders, Rear Admiral Brett R. Sonter of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), called on Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera at the Navy Headquarters in Colombo today (13th December 2024).
