The Navy, during a mobile patrol conducted at Sethapola area in Puttalam on 22^ndApril 2020 and search operations conducted in Wennapuwa area on 22^nd and 23^rd April 2020, raided three places used to distil and sale illicit liquor.

In its continuous efforts to control the spread of new coronavirus within the country, the Navy conducted several disinfection programmes at Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation premises, Election Secretariat, National Hospital-Colombo and Bank premises in Colombo area on 21^st and 22^nd April 2020.

Sri Lanka Navy apprehended two persons along with a haul of 93kg of cannabis which had been attempted to transport to the land by a dinghy, at the Kadeikadu South beach area in Vettalaikerni, Jaffna on 22^nd April 2020.

Sri Lanka Navy assisted to disembark corpse of the chef who fell on a sudden death due to a heart attack whilst serving aboard MV Grace, a merchant ship registered in Sri Lanka, and to hand it over to the local agent of the shipping company, today (22^nd April 2020).

Extending their cooperation to the Navy’s quarantine programme to control the spread of coronavirus in the country, Colombo International Container Terminals (CICT) Ltd. donated a stock of protective face masks to the SL Navy, at the Lighthouse Galley premises, today (22^nd April 2020).

With the aspiration of providing a sort of consolation for the deprived minds of the people confined to homes under curfew in Western Province, the Navy conducted a musical programme in Gampaha area on 21^st April 2020.

A rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) was recovered by Navy during a search carried out at Saukkadi beach in Manipai, Jaffna on 21^st April 2020.

Five (05) persons who engaged in illegal fishing using banned nets were apprehended by Navy during a patrol carried out at Udappuwa area in the Mundalama lagoon, on 21st April 2020.

Mr. Anura Bandara Herath who was facilitated by the Navy to get him back to Sri Lanka on 6^th April 2020 while performing duties aboard the Italian cruise ship MSC ‘Magnifica’ and two other persons left for home on 21st April 2020 after completion of their quarantine period at the Boossa Naval Quarantine Centre.

A stock of Safety medical outfits required for the naval personnel serving in the Naval Quarantine Center at Oluvil, was donated to the Navy by Hydramani Pentex Ltd. in Kahathuduwa and “The Fight Against Corona Team”, at the headquarters of Southeastern Naval Command, on 21^st April 2020.
