Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva declared open the ‘Sath Sith Sath Kam Piyasa’ new ward complex at Karapitiya Hospital today 13^th June 2020. This new ward complex of the hospital was constructed utilizing Navy’s manpower.

The Navy apprehended 08 persons with 13 unauthorized fishing nets, during a search operation conducted with the Sri Lanka Coast Guard, in Wediyadi on the Analathvu Island on 12^th June 2020.

Sixteen (16) more individuals who completed their quarantine period at the quarantine centre established at Boossa Naval Base, left for their homes today (13^th June 2020). ‍

The Navy apprehended 07 persons who were engaging in illegal fishing using unauthorized nets and without fishing passes, during a search conducted in the sea area off Chittikkadu in Kayts, Jaffna on 11^th June 2020.

The Navy apprehended 03 persons for engaging in illegal fishing using banned nets during a patrol conducted in the sea area off Uppural, Mutur on 12^th June 2020.

Another twenty two (22) naval personnel who had contracted COVID-19 and underwent treatment in hospitals, were discharged from the hospitals following their full recovery from the virus, confirmed by PCR tests, on 12^th June 2020.

The Navy recovered explosives used for illegal fishing in a dinghy, while conducting a search in the sea area off Sagarapura in Trincomalee on 10^th June 2020.

Sri Lanka Navy conducted a tree planting programme at the historic Muhudu Maha Vihara in Pottuvil on 11^th June 2020. The Muhudu Maha Vihara premises situated in Pottuvil also has an archaeological value.

The Navy held a stock of Kerala cannabis attempted to transfer ashore by sea routes during a special operation carried out at Kusumanthurai beach area in Jaffna on 12^th June 2020.

Four persons who were illegally transporting a stock of about 158kg of white sandalwood, were apprehended during a joint operation carried out in Hambanthota area by Navy with Police Anti Corruption Unit-Hambanthota, on 11^th June 2020.
