Ex P 419 developed into floating damage control simulator

Having developed into a floating damage control platform, the ex P 419 craft, which had already been cast aside from operational service, was handed over for the training purposes of the 4th Fast Attack Flotilla on 05th August 2020. The simple ceremony held in a bid to mark this occasion was presided over by Commander Eastern Naval Area.

Navy helps avert flood threat in low-lying areas around Gin Ganga

Following the incessant downpour received over the past couple of days, the Wakwella and Dodamgoda bridges in Galle collected tree remains and debris underside, posing a flood threat in the area. Responding promptly to this adversity, the Navy last week was pressed into action to ease the possible flood situation, by removing waste collected under those bridges.

Commander of the Navy pays tribute to fallen war heroes

Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne, after assumption of duties as the 24th Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, made his mark of respect to fallen naval combatants, at a wreath - laying ceremony held at the Naval War Hero Monument in Welisara today (31th July 2020). The event has been organized to glorify the memory of naval war heroes who made supreme sacrifice during naval operations that helped eradicate terrorism from the motherland.
