SLNS Vijayabahu departs for Pakistan to participate in AMAN-2025

SLNS Vijayabahu set sail today (30 Jan 25 ) from the Port of Colombo to Karachi, Pakistan, to join the multinational naval exercise ‘AMAN-2025,’ hosted by the Pakistan Navy. The vessel was ceremoniously sent off from Colombo, following traditional naval customs.

Navy lends hand to clean 28 government paddy warehouses under Clean Sri Lanka initiative

The Sri Lanka Navy is extending its helping hand to clean and repair government paddy warehouses, to ensure safe storage for the Maha season harvest. This initiative is being carried out in support of the government's "Clean Sri Lanka" project, launched under the vision "Beautiful Island, Smiling People.” As part of this programme, the Navy has rendered assistance to clean and repair 28 paddy warehouses, as of 29 Jan 25.

Navy installs medical grade Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant at ICU of National Hospital, Colombo

As part of the Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) project, a medical grade Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant designed for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at National Hospital, Colombo was declared open on 29 Jan 25. Going by the initiatives of the Ministry of Health, the RO plant was built utilizing funds made possible by Sanken Overseas (Pvt) Ltd.

Mangrove planting project takes root in Talaimannar under Clean Sri Lanka initiative

The Navy launched a mangrove planting project in the beach front of Naval Detachment Urumalai, Talaimannar on 28 Jan 25. This initiative was carried out as part of the 25th anniversary of the Provost and Regulating branch of the Sri Lanka Navy, in support of the government's "Clean Sri Lanka" project, launched under the vision "Beautiful Island, Smiling People.”

Midshipman TMIV Thennakoon earns high praise from Deputy Minister of Defence for outstanding achievement at Pakistan Naval Academy

The Hon. Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), extended his congratulations to Midshipman TMIV Thennakoon of the Sri Lanka Navy, in recognition of his historic milestone by receiving the prestigious Sword of Honour for Best Midshipman, on completion of his training at the Pakistan Naval Academy. Midshipman TMIV Thennakoon, along with the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda, called on the Hon. Deputy Minister of Defence at his office today (27 Jan 25).
