Commander of the Navy declares open VNF Museum
The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera inaugurated a newly established museum at the Volunteer Naval Headquarters today (24th October 2024). The event was attended by Rear Admiral Lashanth N Hewavitharana, Commandant Volunteer Naval Force (VNF), and Mrs. Dilrukshi Martenstyn, the beloved wife of late Commander (VNF) Cedric Martenstyn.

Commander of the Navy presides over closing of VNF Annual Training Camp 2024 in Welisara
In a dignified sequence, the inspection of divisions of the Volunteer Naval Force (VNF) Annual Training Camp was held at the VNF Headquarters on 24th October 2024. At the invitation of the Commandant VNF, Rear Admiral Lashanth N Hewavitharana and Commanding Officer VNF, Commodore Susantha Dharmasiri the occasion was graced by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, as the Chief Guest.

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera conducted a guest lecture for the officers of course No. 03 at National Defence College (NDC) Sri Lanka on 23rd October 2024. The course is followed by senior officers from the tri-forces and police, both from Sri Lanka and abroad.

Several facilities expanded in Northern Naval Command
In an effort to enhance facilities at SLNS Uththara of the Northern Naval Command, the renovated badminton court and upgraded main galley were officially opened on 22nd October 2024. The opening was presided over by the Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Rohitha Abeysinghe.

Australian Defence and Strategic Studies Course delegation visits Navy Headquarters
A group of officers and directing staff members from the Defence and Strategic Studies Course - Australia, who are on a study tour to Sri Lanka, visited the Navy Headquarters today (22nd October 2024). The delegation was headed by Colonel Lara Terese Troy. Upon their arrival, the visiting officers were welcomed by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera.

Navy designs medical grade RO plant for Hemodialysis Unit at Base Hospital Minuwangoda
As part of the Naval Social Responsibility Project, a medical grade Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant designed for the Hemodialysis Unit at Base Hospital Minuwangoda was declared open for community use on 21st October 2024. The event was presided over by Mrs. Indrani Malwanna, Regional Director of Health Services – Gampaha and Acting Manager Naval Social Responsibility Project.
