The Offshore Patrol Vessel P 627, which was formally handed over to the Sri Lanka Navy by the U.S. Coast Guard in October 2021, departed for Sri Lanka from the Port of Seattle, United States on 03^rd September 2022. The home bound journey began, after the modernization work of the ship to suit the operational needs of the Sri Lanka Navy.

The annual pooja of Lord Ganesh Kovil at Naval Dockyard, Trincomalee was held on a successful note on 01^st September 2022. In parallel with the religious ritual a colourful perehera marched in the dockyard premises, carrying the statue of Lord Ganesh.

The residential yoga training programme commenced in the Southern Naval Command on 01st March 2022 came to a successful end. Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) ‘Taimur’ which arrived at the port of Colombo on an official visit on 12^th August 2022, set sail from the island after successful conduct of a Passage Exercise with Sri Lanka Navy Ship (SLNS) ‘Sindurala’ today (15^th August).

Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) Marine contingent which left for the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) Exercise 2022, hosted by the US Pacific Fleet, arrived the island on 08^th August 2022. The SLN contingent on 03rd August successfully completed its leg in the RIMPAC 2022, held in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California.

The Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) Taimur which arrived in Sri Lanka on a formal visit, is scheduled to conduct a Passage Exercise with SLNS Sindurala in seas off Colombo as she departs the island on 15^th August 2022, upon completion of her visit. In this backdrop, certain media reports circulating about a ‘War Game’ between Sri Lanka Navy and Pakistan Navy are fallacious.
