A special Islamic prayer session was conducted at the Jummah Mosque on Chatham Street today (02nd December 2021) to invoke blessings on the forthcoming 71st anniversary of Sri Lanka Navy (09th December).

The Northern Naval Command organized a blood donation campaign at SLNS Uththara on 01st December, to coincide with the forthcoming anniversary of the Sri Lanka Navy.

In parallel with the series of religious programmes held in view of the 71st anniversary of the Sri Lanka Navy, a special Hindu 'Pooja' was conducted at the Shri Ponnambalawaneswarar Kovil, Colombo today (01st December 2021).

Deputy Head of Mission European Union, Mr. Thorsten Bargfrede and representatives of United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) handed over 04 Portable Backscatter X-ray Machines to Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne at the Navy Headquarters today (30th November 2021). These handheld instruments enable users to quickly and effectively find concealed narcotics and other contraband.

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne declared open navy-improved facilities at Athbatuwa Junior School in Hungama and Veeriyagama Maha Vidyalaya in Sooriyawewa in the Hambantota district today (29th November 2021). The occasions of bestowing these new facilities upon children of respective schools were also attended by the President Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne.

Commander Southeastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Pradeep Rathnayake conducted a guest lecture to the officers of course no. 1 of the National Defence College (NDC), Colombo on 25th November 2021.

Sri Lanka Navy made arrangements to provide safe passenger transport service at the Kurinchankerny bridge commencing from 25th November 2021. The residents in the area will be able to use this mode of transportation until the construction of the Kurinchankerny Bridge in Kinniya, Trincomalee is completed.

To coincide with the series of religious events held in view of the 71st anniversary of the Sri Lanka Navy, the Navy Christian Council organized a Christian Commemoration & Thanksgiving Service at St. Lucia’s Cathedral in Colombo on 23rd November 2021. The Christian Commemoration & Thanksgiving Service conducted by Auxiliary Bishop, Most Rev. Dr. Anton Ranjith and clergies was presided by Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne.

A United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO) delegation led by Head of Partnering and Engagement Middle East and Africa of UKHO, Mr. Timothy William Lewis called on Chief of Staff of the Navy cum Joint Chief Hydrographer to the Government of Sri Lanka & Chief Hydrographer of the Navy, Rear Admiral YN Jayarathne at the Navy Headquarters on 22nd November 2021.

The German Ambassador to Sri Lanka, HE Holger Seubert met with Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne at the Navy Headquarters today (23rd November 2021).
