The inauguration ceremony of the College of Military Engineering and Technology Sri Lanka (CMETSL) was held on 13^th October 2022 at Eagle’s Lake Side, Aththidiya. The ceremony which was graced by the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, General Kamal Gunaratne (Retd) was also attended by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne at the invitation of the first President of CMETSL and Director General Engineering of Sri Lanka Navy, Rear Admiral Ravi Ranasinghe.

The Offshore Patrol Vessel P 627 of Sri Lanka Navy, which set sail for her home bound journey from Seattle, United States on 03^rd September 2022, called at the Port of Manila in the Philippines on 12^th October 2022. Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Republic of the Philippines, Mrs Shobini Gunasekera was also present on this occasion to welcome the ship.

Rear Admiral Kanchana Banagoda assumed duties as Commander Southeastern Naval Area at the Command Headquarters today (12^th October 2022).

On the sidelines of the poppy flower campaign launched to commemorate war veterans, the President of Sri Lanka Naval Association, Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne (Retd) pinned a poppy flower on Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne at the Navy Headquarters today (12^th October 2022).

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne today (12^th October 2022) formally handed over the letter of appointment to Rear Admiral Jayantha Kularatne, who was appointed as the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Navy, and expressed his best wishes.

Sri Lanka Navy today (12^th October 2022) bade farewell to Rear Admiral Anura Ekanayake who relinquished naval duties to which he was committed over the past 35 years.

The annual Katina Pinkama ceremony of Nagadeepa Purana Rajamaha Viharaya, on the island of Nainativu in Jaffna, was successfully held with the assistance of the Sri Lanka Navy on 10th and 11^th October 2022.

The three-storeyed academic building at SLNS Shiksha was declared open by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne today (07th October 2022). The Navy has been into develop infrastructure at its recruit training establishments, with a view to empowering naval personnel to be at the highest possible levels of proficiency in all respects.

The opening of the High Dependency Unit (HDU) at the Command Hospital (South) in Boossa, Galle was held under the patronage of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne on 05th October 2022. The construction of this HDU was made possible by industrial expertise of the Sri Lanka Navy and aid provided by Donor Institutions and Charity Organizations.
