Commander of the Navy felicitated by his alma maters in Bandarawela

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda was warmly felicitated by his alma maters, S. Thomas' College and Central College, Bandarawela, in a series of ceremonious events held on 25 Feb 25. The events, organized by the past students, teachers and children of both schools, celebrated his ascension to the pinnacle of naval career. The Commander of the Navy was accompanied by the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Anusha Banagoda, during these visits.

Navy dives into community service in support of "A Beautiful Beach - An Attractive Tourist Destination" project

In a significant move to support the government’s Clean Sri Lanka initiative, the Sri Lanka Navy recently conducted a series of beach cleaning programmes on 22 and 23 Feb 25. The efforts, backed by the Northern, Northwestern and North Central Naval Command, were part of the broader "A Beautiful Beach - An Attractive Tourist Destination" project, which aims to restore and maintain the pristine condition of the country’s beaches and tourist hotspots.

RO plant in the village of Digannewa declared open for community use

A Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant, built as part of the Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) Project by the Navy's Research and Development Unit was declared open at the village of Digannewa in Kotawehera, Kurunegala on 22 Feb 25. The project, carried out with industrial expertise of the Research and Development Unit, marked the 1082nd unit delivered under the NSR Project.

Twelve (12) officers pass out at NMA after completing Basic Orientation Course

The Passing out Parade of 12 naval officers who successfully completed Basic Orientation Course (Medical) 03/2024 was held at the main parade ground of the Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA), Trincomalee today (22 Feb 25). The event was graced by Commandant NMA, Rear Admiral Rohan Joseph, as the Chief Guest.

Navy extends industrial expertise to renovate Wahalkada D2 Vidyalaya

Navy joins forces for infrastructure overhaul at schools under “Clean Sri Lanka” initiative

As part of the "Clean Sri Lanka" initiative, a project aimed at improving infrastructure in 1,000 schools kicked off today (20 Feb 25) at Ananda Central College, Modara in Colombo. This initial stage of the project will focus on renovating 200 selected schools. The event was also attended by the Commander of the Navy.

Delegation from 54th Pakistan Navy Staff Course visits Navy Headquarters

A delegation from 54th Pakistan Navy Staff Course of Pakistan Navy War College, currently in Sri Lanka on their foreign study tour from 18 to 23 Feb, visited the Navy Headquarters in Colombo today (19 Feb 25). During the visit, the head of delegation Commodore Ahsen Ali Khan along with a group of senior officers called on the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda.
