Six months of grit and skill: RABS Course-29 concludes with insignia pinning by Navy Commander
A ceremonial insignia pinning was held on 06 Sep 25 at the Rapid Action Boat Squadron (RABS) Headquarters in Gangewadiya, Puttalam, to recognize 3 officers and 34 sailors upon their successful completion of the six-month RABS Qualifying Course-29. At the invitation of the Commanding Officer RABS, Captain Sudesh Chinthaka and Commander Northwestern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Varuna Ferdinandusz, the ceremony was presided over by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda.

Navy Commander leads the Task Force for drug free country
The Presidential Task Force to Combat the Use of Poisonous and Dangerous Drugs convened at Navy Headquarters on 03 Sep 25, adopting a strategic-level approach to formulate a comprehensive national campaign aimed at eradicating drug menace from the country. The meeting was presided over by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda, in his capacity as Chairman of the Task Force.

Workshop orientates senior sailors on administrative and welfare matters of naval ratings
A one-day workshop organized by the Sri Lanka Navy, on administrative and welfare matters of naval ratings, was held on 28 Aug 25 at the Admiral Somathilaka Dissanayake Auditorium, Navy Headquarters, with the Director General Personnel, Rear Admiral Sanjeewa Premarathna presiding over the occasion.

Indonesian Naval Ship KRI BRAWIJAYA-320 departs island
The Indonesian Naval Ship KRI BRAWIJAYA-320 which called at the Port of Colombo, concluded her stay in Sri Lanka and departed the island on 31 Aug 25. In keeping with time- honoured naval traditions, the Sri Lanka Navy extended a customary farewell to the departing vessel at the Port of Colombo.

Naval personnel sharpen skills in explosive ordnance disposal
The Insignia and Certificate Awarding Ceremony of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Qualifying Course No. 06 was held on 27 Aug 25 at the EOD Training School in Maho. The occasion was graced by the Commandant Naval Infantry, Rear Admiral Nishantha Ranaweera, as the Chief Guest.

USS Tulsa departs island
The United States Ship (USS) Tulsa (LCS 16) which called at the Port of Colombo, concluded her stay in Sri Lanka and departed the island today (29 Aug 25). In keeping with time- honoured naval traditions, the Sri Lanka Navy extended a customary farewell to the departing vessel at the Port of Colombo.
