Rear Admiral Ruwan Kalubowila honoured in farewell salute

The Sri Lanka Navy today (23 Dec 25) bade farewell to Rear Admiral Ruwan Kalubowila who retired from his distinguished naval service which spanned over 34 years.

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda, along with the members of the Board of Management and Area Authorities, extended best wishes to the retiring senior officer who is celebrating his 55th birthday today. Thereupon, Rear Admiral Ruwan Kalubowila was accorded a Guard of Honour in precision with naval traditions. As the customary event drew to a close, fellow naval officers made their formal farewells to the retiring senior officer, before he was sent off in a motorcade amidst the cheers of naval personnel.

Rear Admiral Ruwan Kalubowila joined the Sri Lanka Navy as an Officer Cadet of the 21st intake of Naval and Maritime Academy in 1991 and held a wide range of logistics appointments during his illustrious naval career.
