Commander of the Navy embarks on visit to INS VIKRANT

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda visited the Indian Naval Ship (INS) VIKRANT at the Port of Colombo on 27 Nov 25. The aircraft carrier arrived in Sri Lanka to take part in the International Fleet Review 2025, hosted by the Sri Lanka Navy, to mark its 75th anniversary.

The Commanding Officer of the ship, Captain Ashok Rao received the Commander of the Navy with full naval courtesy and accompanied him to visit the ship. Captain Ashok Rao has also served as Defence Adviser to the High Commission of India to Sri Lanka during 2017-2020.

The Commander conveyed appreciation for the steadfast participation and underscored the shared commitment to the exercise theme “Sailing Strong Together”.
