Navy's community focus brings safe drinking water to Kudawewa, Anuradhapura
As part of the Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) project of the Sri Lanka Navy, a new Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant installed at Nawagammanaya in Kudaweawa, Anuradhapura was declared open on 21 Nov 25.
This Reverse Osmosis plant was established through the Sri Lanka Navy's technical and engineering expertise, with initiatives from the Ministry of Health and funding from the Presidential Secretariat. The initiative has now provided 1,139 Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants to communities across the nation. The latest unit, opened at Nawagammanaya will supply a reliable source of safe drinking water (approx. 10,000 litres per day) to the village community.
