4FAF hosts solemn tribute to its war veterans
The 4th Fast Attack Flotilla (4FAF) hosted a solemn ceremony to mark the 75th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Navy, paying tribute to flotilla’s brave sons who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation. The families of the fallen 4FAF war heroes were special guests at the event on 14 Nov 25 in Trincomalee, which honoured the bravery of those who helped secure the nation's freedom.
The 4FAF played a decisive role in the successful humanitarian operation that brought an end to three decades of terrorism and protected Sri Lanka’s maritime borders. The commemorative events served as a reminder of the unwavering patriotism and sacrifice of the naval personnel whose legacy remains deeply rooted in the nation’s history. The commemorative events, organized by 4FAF, encompassed several segments involving the participation of families of war heroes.
Rear Admiral Ravindra Tissera, the Commander Eastern Naval Area, presided over the memorial events which featured religious rites to transfer merits to the fallen and a floral tribute at the 4FAF memorial.
Moreover, the 4FAF also honored the families of war heroes with a series of special programmes, recognizing their immense sacrifices and supporting the fallen veterans.
