Poppy flower pinned on Commander of the Navy commemoration of Remembrance Day 2025

The President of the Sri Lanka Armed Forces Veterans’ Association Poppy Committee, Major General Mahinda Mudalige (Retd), pinned a poppy on Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda at Navy Headquarters on 04 Nov 25. This solemn act was conducted in commemoration of Remembrance Day 2025, honouring the service and sacrifice of fallen military personnel.

The poppy flower campaign was first introduced to honour war veterans who lost their lives in World War I and II. Sri Lanka also embraced this tradition to pay tribute to the courageous men who made the ultimate sacrifice for the motherland.
