Naval Fleet Command marches to victory at Inter-Command Drill Competition 2025
Precision, discipline, and teamwork were on full display as the Navy Inter-Command Drill Competition 2025 unfolded on 10 and 11 Oct 25 at SLNS Shiksha. Held under the patronage of Rear Admiral Jagath Kumara, Commander Western Naval Area, the event saw the Naval Fleet Command emerge triumphant, clinching the championship title with an exceptional performance.
Held annually, the competition aims to strengthen discipline, leadership, and command skills among naval personnel. Ten (10) teams representing all Naval Commands took part in this 12th edition of the competition.
The North Central Naval Command emerged runners-up, while the Eastern Naval Command claimed third place. Lieutenant RMPB Rathnayake of the Naval Fleet Command clinched the award for Best Power of Command, and Leading Seaman DASS Aththanayake received the award for Best Drills.
The Commander North Central Naval Area, Rear Admiral Indika De Silva, Director Naval Weapon, Commodore Duminda Hettiarachchi, Commandant SLNS Shiksha, Captain Lakshman Amarasinghe, officers, sailors and Drill Instructors from sister services were also present on this occasion.
