Navigating towards safer and efficient road transport management

The Sri Lanka Navy launched one of its series of awareness programme on “Vehicle Roadworthiness and Traffic Accident Prevention” at the Driver Training School, SLNS Takshila, on 23 Aug 25.

The event was conducted in collaboration with the Motor Transport Engineering Department of the Western Naval Command and the Traffic Division of the Mahabage Police Station. The programme focused on improving participants’ knowledge of vehicle maintenance standards, road safety regulations, effective accident prevention measures and efficient transport management.

A group of naval Transport Assistants and sailors driving wheels in the Western Naval Command took part in the session.

Through initiatives of this nature, the Navy continues to stress the importance of road discipline, safe vehicle standards and preventing avoidable accidents.
