The annual feast of St. Anne's National Shrine in Thalawila, Kalpitiya, was celebrated with great success on 03 Aug 25, drawing a large number of devotees. The special service was conducted by the Bishop of Chilaw, Rt. Rev. Don Wimal Sri Jayasooriya.

In anticipation of the large number of local devotees and foreign tourists attending the Esala Perahera in Kandy, the Sri Lanka Navy has implemented comprehensive security measures to ensure public safety throughout the duration of the festival.

The Military Attaché to the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia, New Delhi and Colombo, Captain (Navy) Hussain O Alkowaileet called on the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda at the Navy Headquarters today (04 Aug 25).
