The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda, embarked on an official visit to the Northwestern Naval Command on 12 and 13 Jul 25, reviewing operational readiness, administrative affairs as well as implementation of welfare measures at the naval establishments of SLNS Thambapanni, Vijaya and Naval Detachments belonging to those establishments.

The newly constructed Outpatient Department (OPD) building Regional Hospital in Nainathivu island Jaffna was officially opened to the public on 12 Jul 25, under the patronage of Hon. (Dr.) Nalinda Jayatissa, Minister of Health and Mass Media. The project was funded by the German Red Cross, with technical and industrial expertise made possible by the Sri Lankan Navy.
