Commander of the Army pays official visit to Navy Headquarters

Making an official visit to the Navy Headquarters, the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo met with the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda today (08 Jul 25).

Upon arrival at Navy Headquarters, the Army Commander was honoured with a traditional ceremonial guard of honour reflecting the highest military courtesy and pride of the Sri Lanka Navy. The Commander of the Navy then introduced the Navy’s senior leadership, including the Chief of Staff and Board of Management members, to the visiting Army Chief.

Next, the two service commanders engaged in comprehensive and constructive dialogue focused on operational cooperation and shared security objectives, particularly highlighting how both the Army and Navy contribute significantly to upholding the nation's security interests.

This official visit of the Army Commander symbolized the enduring strengths and dignified unity among the Sri Lanka’s armed forces. The meeting concluded with a customary exchange of mementoes, representing the shared values and cooperative spirit between the services.
