In a significant step towards ensuring access to clean drinking water, 06 Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants were declared open at Sangattewa, Dampalassagama, Gonapathirawa, Dhathusenapura and Puliyankulama in Ipalogama, Anuradhapura on 16 May 25. These initiatives, spearheaded by the Sri Lanka Navy's Research and Development Unit, are part of the Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) Project, which continues to make a positive impact.

The project has reached its 1,097th milestone with the inauguration of six new RO plants, funded by the Presidential Secretariat, bringing safe drinking water to communities in need. With a daily purification capacity of approximately 10,000 liters each, the plants are set to provide safe drinking water to residents of respective villages.

Aligned with the government's vision of ' A vigorous life - Healthy people’, the Navy is advancing its magnanimous NSR project to supply safe drinking water to communities affected by chronic kidney disease.
