Navy’s RO plant quenches thirst of children at Alpitiya Maha Vidyalaya, Monaragala

In a significant step towards ensuring access to clean drinking water, a Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant was declared open at Alpitiya Maha Vidyalaya, Monaragala on 10 Apr 25. Driven by the Sri Lanka Navy's Research and Development Unit, this initiative has been a key component of the Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) Project and was supported by funding from the Sunshine Foundation for Good.

The newly inaugurated RO plant is the 1,091st unit delivered under the NSR Project. With a daily purification capacity of approximately 10,000 liters, the plant is set to provide safe drinking water to the students of the school and the surrounding community.
