Hope flows in Anuradhapura with 02 new RO plants
In a significant step towards ensuring access to clean drinking water, 02 Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants were declared open at Heenukkiriyawa in Kekirawa and Sri Bodhirukkaramaya in Nawakkulama, Anuradhapura on 04 Apr 25. These initiatives, spearheaded by the Sri Lanka Navy's Research and Development Unit, are part of the Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) Project, which continues to make a positive impact.
The newly inaugurated RO plants were the 1,089th and 1,090th units delivered under the NSR Project, sponsored by the Presidential Secretariat. With a daily purification capacity of approximately 10,000 liters each, the plants are set to provide safe drinking water to residents of Heenukkiriyawa and Nawakkulama.
