Navy’s commitment in social responsibility and empowerment transforms Mahawathupola Muslim Maha Vidyalaya, Kandy
Demonstrating its continued commitment to social responsibility and empowerment, the Sri Lanka Navy threw its weight behind to transform the teaching-learning environment and infrastructure development at Mahawathupola Muslim Maha Vidyalaya in Kandy from 18 to 29 Mar 25. The initiative was launched as part of the nationwide programme aimed at fostering an educational atmosphere at schools, centered on the theme "A School Full of Happiness.”
The Sri Lanka Navy is a key partner of the "Clean Sri Lanka" campaign, aligning with the government's vision of "Beautiful Island, Smiling People." In line with this vision, the Navy is actively contributing to the mission of the “Clean Sri Lanka” project, aiming to reposition the nationwide efforts of environmental, social, and ethical initiatives.
Under the theme "A School Full of Happiness," schools are urged to cultivate a vibrant, innovative, disciplined, and talent-focused community by creating a clean, nurturing, and safe learning environment. As part of this initiative, which emphasizes improving school facilities and infrastructure, the Navy has successfully revitalized 38 schools across the country, as of now.
The recent initiative at Mahawathupola Muslim Maha Vidyalaya, implemented to improving infrastructure was conducted under the guidance of the Commander Western Naval Area.
