More schools sparkle with Navy’s continued citizen responsibility and empowerment

Highlighting its steadfast commitment to social responsibility and empowerment, the Sri Lanka Navy engaged in fostering supportive school environment initiatives at Buddhist Primary School, Kadawatha, Sri Pemananda Maha Vidyalaya, Kadawatha, Mayadunna Primary School, Parakandeniya and Embaraluwa Mihindu Junior School, Weliweriya on 18 Mar 25. The events were part of a countrywide programme focused on cultivating an educational environment that promotes national values, social ethics, and environmental sustainability, under the theme "A School Full of Happiness."

The Navy plays a crucial role in supporting the "Clean Sri Lanka" campaign, in harmony with the government's vision of a "Beautiful Island, Smiling People." As part of this initiative, the Navy is engaged in advancing the goals of the "Clean Sri Lanka" project, which seeks to revitalize nationwide efforts in environmental, social, and ethical development.

Under the theme "A School Full of Happiness," schools are being urged to cultivate a vibrant, innovative, disciplined, and talent-focused community by creating a clean, nurturing, and safe learning environment. As part of this initiative, which emphasizes improving school facilities and infrastructure, the Navy has successfully revitalized 36 schools, as of now.

The recent initiatives at aforesaid schools, implemented to foster environmental awareness and cleanliness while enhancing the relationship between the Navy and local community, was conducted under the guidance of the Commander Western Naval Area.
