Navy enhances operational capabilities with Line-Throwing Adapter Kits

Another set of Line-Throwing Adapter Kits for T56 SMG, improvised by Sri Lanka Navy’s Research and Development Unit (RDU), were officially handed over to SLNS Sayura and SLNS Shakthi in a ceremony presided over by the Commander Eastern Naval Area on 04 Mar 25.

This groundbreaking initiative, launched under the guidance of the Commander of the Navy, was envisioned by the Flag Officer Commanding Naval Fleet. The project aims to provide a cost-effective and practical solution for ship-to-ship line deployment, significantly improving safety and efficiency in naval operations. Moreover, these kits provide a quick and efficient way to deploy lines using existing naval assets, offering a cost-effective solution without compromising performance or reliability.

Through such initiatives, the Sri Lanka Navy remains committed to advancing technological innovation and developing indigenous solutions, aiming to boost its mission efficiency and improve resource management.
