Navy extends diving assistance to restore functionality of Rajanganaya Reservoir sluice gate

The Sri Lanka Navy stepped forward to provide crucial diving assistance to restore the functionality of the left bank sluice gate at the Rajanganaya Reservoir from 05 to 07 Mar 25.

At the request of the Anuradhapura Disaster Management Centre, the Navy swiftly responded to address the issue, following a reported leak through the sluice walls. Accordingly, a team of divers from the Northwestern Naval Command was promptly rushed to the site, where they successfully reconnected the cables of a non-operational emergency sluice gate, restoring its functionality and averting the leak.

The successful restoration of the system's functionality will ensure uninterrupted irrigation water supply to more than 10,000 acres of paddy fields.
