'Maithree Paada -Yaathra’ pilgrimage arrives at Nagadeepa Purana Raja Maha Viharaya
The 'Maithree Paada -Yaathra’ pilgrimage, commenced at Tissamaharama Raja Maha Viharaya on 07 Feb 25, arrived at Nagadeepa Purana Raja Maha Viharaya today (08 Feb). With the noble aspiration of spreading loving-kindness, compassion, and peace across the world, a group of Buddhist monks (52) from Sri Lanka, Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos embarked on the 'Maithree Paada -Yaathra’ pilgrimage. The Navy enabled essential facilities for those who embarked on this foot pilgrimage with the contribution of the Naval Buddhist Association,
Meanwhile, the foot pilgrimage, covering the Southern, Uva, Sabaragamuwa, Northwestern, Central, North Central, and Northern Provinces, reached the Northern Naval Command. There, the Navy provided Buddhist monks engaged in the foot pilgrimage with permissible drinks, alms, and first aid assistance.
