Navy’s commitment to community: Morakewa Maha Vidyalaya, Horowpothana gets fresh look
In line with its ongoing dedication to community service, the Sri Lanka Navy organized a clean-up initiative at Morakewa Maha Vidyalaya in Horowpothana on 04 Mar 25. This effort was part of the broader "Clean Sri Lanka" campaign, a nationwide project aimed at revitalizing schools across the country.
In a bid to foster more supportive teaching and learning environments in schools, the Navy consistently supports commendable initiatives aimed at enhancing infrastructure, through its social responsibility programmes.
The Sri Lanka Navy is a key partner of the "Clean Sri Lanka" campaign, aligning with the government's vision of "Beautiful Island, Smiling People." In line with this vision, the Navy is actively contributing to the nationwide effort to clean and renovate school premises, reinforcing its commitment to the initiative.
This cleanliness and environmental awareness initiative conducted at Morakewa Maha Vidyalaya, was overseen by the Commander of the North Central Naval Command. The programme sought to foster stronger connections between the Navy and the local community while promoting eco-friendly practices.
