Navy’s RO plant quenches thirst of children at Nakwaththagama Junior School, Kurunegala
In a significant step towards ensuring access to clean drinking water, a Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant was declared open at Nakwaththagama Junior School, Kurunegala on 04 Mar 25. This initiative, spearheaded by the Sri Lanka Navy's Research and Development Unit, is part of the Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) Project, funded by Sunshine Foundation for Good and Sunshine Holding PLC.
The newly inaugurated RO plant, built with the industrial expertise of the Navy's Research and Development Unit, is the 1,086th unit delivered under the NSR Project. With a daily purification capacity of approximately 10,000 liters, the plant is set to provide safe drinking water to the students of the school and the surrounding community.
