Navy’s 74th Anniversary celebrated with blood donation campaign at Command Naval Hospital, North Central Naval Command
To commemorate the Sri Lanka Navy's 74th Anniversary, a blood donation drive was held at the Command Naval Hospital in the North Central Naval Command on 17th December 2024
As part of the anniversary celebrations held on 09th December, the Navy has prioritized community service and religious activities. On the sidelines of these programmes, this blood donation campaign was organized by the North Central Naval Command, in coordination with the staffs of the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital and Vavuniya General Hospital Blood Transfusion Centers.
Organized under the guidance of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, and the supervision of Commander North Central Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jagath Kumara, the initiative reflected the Navy’s commitment to social responsibility. The event was overseen by Command Medical Officer (North Central), Surgeon Commander Chandana Aththanayake.
The event witnessed voluntary participation, with 324 personnel from establishments belonging to the North Central Naval Command donating blood to support this life saving effort.
