Eight (08) new RO plants boost access to safe drinking water in Anuradhapura
The Navy's Research and Development Unit, in collaboration with the Naval Social Responsibility Project and funded by the Presidential Secretariat, spearheaded the installation of 31 Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants in the Anuradhapura district. As part of this initiative, 03 new RO plants were inaugurated on 12th December 2024, serving Mahakanumulla Community Hall premises in the Thirappane Divisional Secretariat and 231 Eastern Village and Katukeliyawa of Moragahawela belonging to the Kahatagasdigiliya Divisional Secretariat.
Marking the successful culmination of the project, 05 more RO plants were installed at Mudithagama Pahala Maragaha Wewa Multipurpose Building, Thimbiriwewa Vilpaththuwa Temple, Horuwila Sri Thapodanaramaya Raja Maha Viharaya and Suhada Funeral Aid Society premises of Amunakole in the Nochchiyagama Divisional Secretariat on 13th December.
The special project to establish 31 RO plants across the Anuradhapura District reached its successful conclusion with the formal handover of these facilities to the public.
