Navy bids adieu to Rear Admiral Ravi Ranasinghe

p class="text-justify"> The Sri Lanka Navy today (11th October 2024) bade farewell to Rear Admiral Ravi Ranasinghe who relinquished his duties to which he was committed over the past 35 years in the Sri Lanka Navy.

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera along with the Board of Management, extended best wishes to the retiring senior officer who is celebrating his 55th birthday today. Thereupon, Rear Admiral Ranasinghe was accorded a Guard of Honour in accordance with naval traditions. As the customary event drew to a close, fellow naval officers made their formal farewells to the retiring senior officer, before he was sent off in a motorcade amidst the cheers of naval personnel.

Rear Admiral Ravi Ranasinghe joined the Sri Lanka Navy as an Officer Cadet of the 19th intake in 1989. Throughout his distinguished career, the senior officer has occupied various roles such as; Acting Deputy Superintendent Dockyard (South), Deputy Director Marine Engineering, Deputy Superintendent Dockyard (West), Deputy Director Engineering (New Construction), Deputy Superintendent Dockyard (East), Director Engineering Service, Commodore Superintendent Dockyard (North Central), Commodore Superintendent Dockyard (North), Commodore Superintendent Dockyard (West), Director Marine Engineering Director General Engineering and Deputy Chief of Staff.
