Navy leads beach cleaning initiatives in Boossa and Medilla

The Sri Lanka Navy conducted a beach cleaning programmes covering the Boossa and Medilla beaches today (05th October 2024).

Going by the directives of Commander Southern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Chandima Silva, the beach cleaning initiatives were set in motion by SLNS Nipuna and SLNS Ruhuna. The efforts of naval personnel helped restore the attractiveness of the beaches from Gintota to Boossa and Kirama outfall to Medilla by removing plastic and other waste scattered along the coastline.

Officers and sailors from SLNS Nipuna and SLNS Ruhuna actively volunteered, contributing to the success of these initiatives.
