Navy leads beach cleaning initiative in Mahamodara and Hambantota

Sri Lanka Navy conducted a beach cleaning programme from Mahamodara to Dadella, Galle and the beach of Hambantota city limits today (24th August 2024).

Going by the directives of Commander Southern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Chandima Silva, the beach cleaning initiative was set in motion by SLNS Dakshina and SLNS Kawantissa. The efforts of naval personnel helped restore the attractiveness of the beaches by removing plastic and other waste scattered along the coastline.
