Rear Admiral Damian Fernando assumes duties as Commander Eastern Naval Area

Rear Admiral Damian Fernando who was newly appointed as Commander Eastern Naval Area, assumed duties at the Command Headquarters in Trincomalee today (23rd August 2024).

The incoming Commander was received to the Eastern Naval Command in compliance with naval traditions. Thereafter, Rear Admiral Kanchana Banagoda, who previously oversaw duties as Area Commander, formally handed over the duties and responsibilities of the appointment to Rear Admiral Damian Fernando.

Concluding the proceedings of the event, senior officers of the Eastern Naval Command congratulated the outgoing Commander appreciative of his tenure. Next the Command bade customary farewell to the outgoing Commander, in precision with naval traditions.
